Tuning programme gives the C 63 600hp and 800Nm.
With a rated power output of 600hp, a peak torque of 800Nm, a sprint time of 3.8 seconds from 0-100km/h and a top speed of 300km/h, plus exclusive sporty options from aerodynamic enhancement and wheels to the suspension and the interior: Brabus presents an extensive tuning program for the new Mercedes C 63S in a world premiere at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt am Main.
Be it the sedan or wagon variant, the Brabus PowerXtra B40 - 600 engine tuning makes the new Mercedes-Benz C 63S even more a wolf in sheep's clothing. The Brabus engineers used state-of-the-art test rig technology and extensive test drives on racetracks and public roads to develop a performance kit that boosts the power output of the turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 by 90hp.
Brabus adapts a plug-and-play auxiliary control module to the electronic engine management system. It updates the engine controls with new mapping for injection and ignition while increasing the boost pressure. As a result, rated power output jumps from standard 510hp to 600hp at a low 5,800rpm. At the same time, peak torque grows from 700 to 800Nm, available on a plateau between 1,750 and 4,500rpm. Brabus recommends high-performance motor oil from technology partner Motul.
n concert with the seven-speed sports transmission, a C 63S sedan with Brabus PowerXtra B40 - 600 performance tuning launches from rest to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The slightly heavier wagon takes just a tenth of a second longer for the same exercise. The top speed of both body styles jumps from 250 to 300km/h.
The strong suites of the Brabus sport exhaust system for the Mercedes C 63S are its sound and its performance. The all-stainless exhaust reduces back pressure and features controlled butterfly valves for an electronically controlled sound management. A switch in the cockpit lets drivers choose between a subtle "coming home" mode and the open position of the butterfly valves for a markedly powerful exhaust note of the twin-turbo V8.
Reducing aerodynamic lift is of tremendous importance for a car as fast as this. For this reason, the Brabus designers went into the wind tunnel to develop equally efficient and visually stunning bodywork components manufactured from clear-coated carbon with a matte or shiny surface seal. The air outlets in the front fenders add even more emphasis to the sporty-elegant appearance of the C 63S.
In addition, the production front bumper of the sedan and the wagon can be upgraded with a Brabus spoiler lip. Carbon surrounds for the side air intakes give the top-of-the-line C-Class model even more athletic looks. A diffuser and a rear spoiler can make the rear of the sedan even more aerodynamically effective. Clear-coated carbon covers for the exterior mirrors represent another sporty feature.
The new 20-inch king-sized Brabus Monoblock T wheels play a crucial role in the car's athletic appearance and further enhanced driving dynamics. The five-spoke wheels with carbon inlays on each spoke are mounted on the top-of-the-line model of the current C-Class in size 8.5Jx20 on the front axle and in size 9.5Jx20 at the rear. They are shod with Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama high-performance tyres of sizes 255/30ZR20 at the front and up to 275/30ZR20 on the rear axle.
Of course, exclusive interior refinement is also available for all Mercedes C 63 models. The product lineup ranges from stainless-steel scuff plates with colour-changing backlit Brabus logo and ergonomic aluminium paddle shifters to a speedometer with 340km/h scale.
The company upholstery shop creates Brabus fine leather luxury interiors tailored to individual customer preferences from a combination of especially soft yet durable Brabus Mastik leather and Alcantara. Brabus offers wood and carbon trim sets in any desired colour and with a variety of surface finishes to complement the leather appointments. The Brabus fine leather interior of the show car at the IAA 2015 is made from all-black leather with mandarin-coloured seams. Appropriately, all chrome body parts are painted in the same black colour as the vehicle.
