Mercedes SLK gets a diesel engine - 250 CDI

After three generations it has been proven a successful model, SLK will be offered to the public and with a diesel engine, known by the name 250 CDI. Available from 13 September this year, convertible diesel engine uses a 2.1-liter four-cylinder capable of providing a total of 204 horsepower and 500 Nm. 

Engine equipped with common-rail turbo-compressor and is familiar to fans of the Mercedes S-Class and CLS models.

Engine guarantees a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds, with acceleration from 80 to 120 km / h in 4.3 seconds. Maximum speed and it stops at 243 km / h. Even so, the unit promises diesel consumption impressive 4.9 litres/100 kilometers only and emissions of 128 g / km.For starters, the new diesel will be offered only with automatic gearbox 7G-Tronic Plus, the alternative manual six reports will be introduced until the second quarter of next year.

Equipping the new SLK 250 CDI series will include Stop & Start system. Optionally, customers can order folding roof with Magic Sky Control function, electrically adjustable sports suspension or suspension.Official debut of the new version will be recorded live on stage at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.
